Won-Young Lee is currently a professor at Sungkyunkwan University School of Medicine in Seoul, Korea. He graduated from the College of Medicine of the Catholic University of Korea in 1991, and completed his residency and fellowship in the Division of Endocrinology and Metabolism at St. Mary’s Hospital, the Catholic University of Korea School of Medicine in 2001. He received his PhD from the Catholic University of Korea in 2003. He was a visiting scholar at the Departments of Endocrinology and Preventive Medicine of the University of California, San Diego in the USA from 2015 to 2016.

Dr. Lee is now the director of the publication committee of the Korean Endocrine Society, the director of the NHIS MOU committee of the Korean Society for the Study of Obesity, the director of the finance committee of Korean Society of Cardiovascular Disease Prevention, the director of the research committee of the Korean Diabetes Association, the consultation editor of Cardiovascular prevention and pharmacotherapy, and an associate editor of Diabetes Research and Clinical Practice (http://www.diabetesresearchclinicalpractice.com).

He has published more than 150 articles in international journals, and his main research area is glucolipotoxicity and its relationships with pancreatic beta cell function, diabetic complications, and obesity.

Dr. Kim is an associate professor of internal medicine at Seoul National University College of Medicine, and he is also the chief of the Division of Endocrinology and Metabolism of Boramae Medical Center. Dr. Kim's research focuses on metabolic bone diseases and mineral metabolism. His studies range from clinical trials for osteoporosis to the use of genetically altered mice and cell biology research to understand the actions of various hormones that influence bone and mineral metabolism.

Dr. Park is a professor of internal medicine at Seoul National University College of Medicine and chief of the Thyroid Center at Seoul National University Hospital. Her current research activities are centered on the molecular pathogenesis of advanced thyroid cancer and the development of personalized therapy using molecular diagnostics.

Eun-Jung Rhee graduated from Ewha Womans University Medical School in 1997. She finished her residency and fellowship in endocrinology and metabolism at Kangbuk Samsung Hospital, Sungkyunkwan University School of Medicine, Seoul, Korea. She received her PhD from the Catholic University of Korea in 2009. She worked as a visiting professor in the cardiovascular division of Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Harvard University, Boston, Massachusetts, USA from 2010 to 2011. She is currently a professor in the Department of Endocrinology and Metabolism at Kangbuk Samsung Hospital, Sungkyunkwan University School of Medicine, Seoul, Korea.

She is currently working as a director without portfolio of the Korean Endocrine Society, the vice-secretary general of the Korean Diabetes Association, and the secretary of the Clinical Practice Guidelines Committee of the Korean Society of Lipidology and Atherosclerosis, and Atherosclerosis, and the assistant editor of Journal of Diabetes Investigation.

She has published more than 150 articles in international journals, and her areas of expertise are the vascular complica- tions of diabetes and the relationship between metabolic diseases and vascular calcification.
